Bangladesh is a very beautiful Country consisting of Hills-Mountains, Seas, Bills, Haor-Baors, Rivers, Mangrove Forest etc. I am very happy to share with you guys the top visited places in Bangladesh per my observation. There may be different consent present from others people. However, I am letting you guys to know top 20 best tourist spots in Bangladesh.
- Sundarbans Mangrove Forest:
The Sundarbans is the gigantic mangrove forest in the world and it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 6 December 1997. The main tourist point is Hiron Point, Katka, Kachikhali (Tiger Point), Tin Kona Island, Dim chor etc are for watching Deers, Tigers, Crocodiles, varieties of birds, Monkeys, Wild Boars, Jungle Cats, Leopard Cats etc. Dublar Char (Island) for fishermen. It is a beautiful island.
- St. Martin’s Island:
St. Martin’s Island is very popular tourist spot in Bangladesh. This island is situated about 9 km south of Teknaf Upazila in Cox’s Bazar. This island is northeastern part of Bay of Bengal and the only coral island in the country. The uniqueness of this island is the only one place where coral colonies are found, is a natural treasure of Bangladesh that attracts thousands of tourist.
- Cox’s Bazar:
Cox’s Bazar sea beach is the longest sea beach in the world (120 km long). The part of the 120 km beach is named differently. They are- ‘Laboni Beach’, ‘Sughandha Beach’, ‘Himchari Beach’, ‘Inani Beach’,& ‘Teknaf Beach’. It is also District Headquarters & fishing port. The fish aquarium (only in the country) is here. Every year, not only domestic tourist but also a lot of tourist from outside the country come to see this beach on the world. Rows and rows of jungles, soft beds of sand, beaches, hills and waterfall are in Cox’s Bazar.
- Nafa-khum Waterfall:
Nafa-khum is a largest natural Waterfall in Bangladesh. In Marma language Khum means ‘waterfall’. This waterfall is located in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban on the river of Sungu. Nafa-khum is unthinkable that nature can be so beautiful here. This place has High hills on both sides of the river. The water flow of Remakri canal come to this Nafa-khum and took a turn and suddenly went down to about 25-30 feet.
- Sajek Valley:
Sajek valley is a most popular and craziest tourist spot in Bangladesh. It’s known as the roof of Rangamati & queen of hills. It’s located among the hills of the Kasalong range in Baghaichhari, Rangamati. The valley is situated in 1800 feet above sea level. The Valley gets its name from the Sajek River. The road to Sajek is in the high peaks of the hill. The main tourist points are Ruilui para, Konglak hill (Konglak Para) & konglak Jorna. It’s surrounded by lofty hills, dense forest, grasslands and miles and miles of holly tracks.
- Keokradong Hill:
Keokradong is located 30 km away from Ruma Upazila of Bandarban. It’s height is 3162 feet. From a distance, the peak of Keokradong seems smoky because it’s covered in white clouds. Rain-wind-clouds occupy the surrounding area of the peak from time to time. This area is covered with dense forest & animals. It is situated on the border between Bangladesh and Myanmer. Dazzling beauty of green hills, cool air, zigzag hilly road & hide and seek game of clouds on the top of the hill; all those are simply mind-blowing.
- Bisnakandi:
Bisnakandi is located in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet. Bisnakandi is with rocks, water, mountains and clouds. Stepping into the water of the fountain coming down from the hills of Meghalaya State, all the peace of the world will feel here. It is a landscape beauty among forests and hills. The rainy season is the perfect time to visit the beautiful Bisnakandi that high mountains, rivers, fountains & dancing clouds.
- Kuakata:
Kuakata is situated in the southern part of the Country. This sea beach is one of the largest sea beach in Bangladesh. It becomes one of the major tourist attractions of Bangladesh because this sea beach is a place of rare & unique beauty. From the beach both Sunrise & Sunset can be enjoyed very much.
- Ratargul Swamp Forest:
Ratargul Swamp Forest is known as the Amazon of Bengal. It is located in Fatehpur Union of Gowaingath Upazila bordering Sylhet. The area of this forest is 325.61 acres. In 1983, 504 acres of forest was declared a wildlife sanctuary. There are about 25 species of water tolerant trees in this huge forest. Tourist visit here during the rainy season as the forests are able to be seen under the clean water of the hour.
- Boga Lake:
Boga Lake is the most beautiful natural Lake in the hilly area of Bandarban. This Lake is also known as “Bagakain Lake”. It is 18 km away from Ruma town in Bandarban. The area of this lake is about 18.56 acres. It is just about 1800 feet above sea level. The lake contains sweet water and is irregular in shape. The water is crystal clear. Boga Lake is bordered by mountain peaks on three sides covered with thick bamboo bushes. The water color of this lake depends upon the sun light, wetness and clouds. Usually the water shows greenish blue color.
- Khoiyachhara Waterfall:
Khoiyachhara Waterfall is located on the hills of Mirsharai, Chittagong. It is one of the biggest Waterfalls according to the size and structure. Its 9 main steps and many isolated steps, other strewn steps prove that this Waterfall is the unique waterfall in Bangladesh. On this trail there are few more big waterfalls ( Napittachhara Waterfall, Komoldoho Waterfall, Sahasradhara Waterfall, Jharjhari Waterfall etc) which are amazing. There are also some underground deep caves filled with fresh water natural pool.
- Madhabpur Lake:
Madhabpur Lake is located 10 km east of Sreemangal. This lake is situated in the middle of high hills & it is also located in Patrakhla Tea Garden in Madhubpur union of Kamalganj upazila. This lake flows through both side of small hills. Only tea is grown in most of the hills. Madhabpur has water (lake), hills, & tea gardens.
- Dhuppani Waterfall:
Dhuppani Waterfall is located at Orachhari in Farua Union of Bilachhari Upazila of Rangamati. In Tanchanga, “Dup” means white and “Pani (water) means water. Basically the water of this Waterfall is clear when its water falls from a very high place it is only seen as white. The sound of the water rushing from this waterfall can be heard from a distance of about 2 km.
14.Jadipai Waterfall:
If you want to see the natural beauty of Bangladesh then must visit Jadipai Waterfall. It is located at deep inside the hilly area of Bandarban. It is one of the craziest Waterfall of Bangladesh. It is one of the largest Waterfall of Bangladesh. During the rainy season the flow of Jadipai fall becomes power full. The water of this fall is so cool & clean. Though the path of this area is risky but when you will reach there you will feel the full tranquility.
- Alir Cave:
Ailr Cave is situated in Alikadam Upazila of Bandarban in Chittagong, Bangladesh. This cave located at the top of two hills near Matamuhuri-Tuino canal (Khal). Alir Cave is just three km away from Alikadam Town. Three consecutive caves have been found in this area. No one can say whether these caves are made naturally or artificially. Those caves are made of soil and stone and those are one hundred & fifty feet above Jhiri Path. Those elongated caves in the middle of the hill are about 100 feet long. The Caves are very dark inside. So you have to go inside with torch light or moshal (torch).
- Chandranath Hill:
Chandranath Hill is located in Sitakunda, Chittagong. Sitakunda is a green land of natural beauty. On the way to Chandranath hill, you will also see some religious places of Hindus. If you go deep into the mountain, you will see jumkhat on the top of the hill. There are some broken stairs. It’s easy to get up on the left side and down the stairs on the right. In the rainy season, hills look very beautiful. But climbing mountains in the rainy season is very dangerous.
- Kaptai Lake:
Kaptai Lake is a beautiful blue artificial watery lake. The size of this Lake is just about 11000 square km. This amazing Lake was created by flooding valleys and plain lands between many hills all around the Lake. Kaptai has Bangladesh’s only hydro-electric project. You guys can enjoy the Kaptai Lake via engine boat with so many spots such as historic monuments, natural landmarks, Hanging Bridge, Shuvlong Waterfall etc. Nonetheless, these places are easily accessible only via engine boats.
- Lalakhal:
Now a day, Lalakhal is one of the most attractive tourist spots for tourists. Lalakhal is a canal located Sharee River near the Tamabil road. The river is not much deep. The important point of the canal is water. The water has a variety of colors blue/green at different points.
- Floating Guava Market:
The Floating Guava Market is located in Jhalakathi’s Sugandha, Bishkhali, Gabkhan and Sandhya River are Southern part (Barisal). Every day, thousands of tons of guavas are supplied all over the country. Boats are the main transportation for supplying. Farmers carry the guavas into the boats. This market is the 200-year-old market. You are bounded by water and hundreds of boats filled with guavas.
- Mahasthan Ghar:
Mahasthangarh Ghar is the present name of the ancient Pundranagari which is Bogra belongs to Shibganj thana of district. The powerful Maurdhas, Guptas and other kings used Mahasthan Ghar as their capital. Its size is about six miles. In 1808, Buchanan Hamilton was the first to discover the ruins of Pundranagara. There are so many places are interest in Mahasthanghar. They are- Bairagir Vita, Khodarapatha Vita, Kalidah Sagar, Shiladebi’s Ghat, Jiutkund Coop, Mankali Island, Govinda Vita, Totaram Pandit’s step, Gokul medh etc.
