Bandarban is the most beautiful place in Bangladesh. It is one of the attractive travel place is just 298 Kilometers away from the Dhaka city and just 77 Kilometers away from the Chittagong city. Bandarban is located in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh.

How to go Bandarban:

Dhaka to bandarban By Bus: At first, you can go to Bandarban from Dhaka by Bus. Many bus companies are provided services of travelling Dhaka to Bandarban such as Eagle, S. Alam, Shanti, Shyamoli, Saudia, Saint Martin etc Paribahans AC & non AC service are available in this route. Those buses fare are TK. 550 top 1200.

Dhaka to Chittagong by Train: There are so many train services departs from Kamalapur , Dhaka for Chittagong. The intercity train Subarna Express, Mohanagar Provati, Karnaphuli Express, Mohanagar Goduli, Sonar Bangla Express, Turna Express etc are available for Chittagong. The fare of those trains is TK.160-1093.

Dhaka to Chittagong by airFrom Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport- Biman Bangladesh, United air, Regent Air, Novo Air and US Bangla Air fly daily to Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong. The fare of those air is TK.3000-8000.

Chittagong to Bandarban by bus: You can go to Bandarban from Chittagong. Pubali and Purbani Paribahan buses run from Baddarhat to Bandarban. These buses are rented at TK. 150-200 for per person.

 

Main Tourist Spots in Bandarban City:

Meghla Parjatan Complex

Meghla Parjatan Complex is situated 5 kilometers before entering the Bandarban town. This place is located on the Bandarban- Keranihat road. This place is most popular tourist spots in Bandarban. Tourist are coming from all over the country. Meghla Parjatan Complex is a neighboring area of the Bandarban hill district council on the gateway of Bandarban. This place is maintained by district administration.However what makes this place different and unique from the other tourist spots is that it has two hanging bridges. There are also a zoo, an artificial lake and paddle boat at the bottom of the hill, children’s park, cable car etc in Meghla Parjatan Complex. Here you can see the green natural beauty of the hills and the clean water of the lake are constantly drawing tourists closer to nature.Inside this spot there are small shops of hill tribes. The Variety of Burmese foods are available at these shops.  The hill people also sell various hill seasonal fruits here. Tea is also available in some shops. The feeling of seeing the mountains while drinking tea is very beautiful.  In the middle of this tourist spot there are some white hills which are different from other hills.

How to go Meghla Parjatan Complex:

After reaching at Bandarban Town ( Bandarban bus station) to Meghla Parjatan Complex, you have to reserve Chander Gari (Jeep)/ Auto rickshaw/CNG.

Rupali Jhorna:

Rupali jhorna is not well known to tourist. This Jhorna is located near Bandarban town. There are many people who have visited the whole Bandarban city, but have not seen the eyes in a place where they can enjoy a little hard work.  This Jhorna is situated in Reicha Bazar area. This Jhorna has 3 steps. The lowest step is called Rupali Jhorna by the locals.  If you want to go to the top 2 steps, you have to take the inaccessible hilly jhiri path. For the Bandarban city tour, it would be good to travel to the last step of this Jhorna. And if you want to go to all the steps of this Jhorna, then you have to keep it in your hand for 1 day to see this Jhorna. It is a good time to visit this Jhorna in the rainy season.  You can take a guide to go to this Jhorna. The local children are the guides to this Jhorna.

How to go Rupali  Jhorna:

First you have to reach Reicha Bazar from Bandarban city. When you reach Reicha Bazar, you can go to Rupali Jhorna with a guide.

Chimbuk Hill:

Chimbuk is very popular name all over rhe country.  This hill is situated at a distance of 26 km from Bandarban town.  It is about 2500 feet above sea level. .  It is maintained by district administration. The view of the hill peak is very beautiful. The neighboring districts of Cox;s Bazar and various upazilas of Bandarban can be seen from here. In the rainy season, you will see the beautiful natural scenery of clouds and hills. Stading peak of the Chimbuk, you can see the raft of clouds floating down.

How to go Chimbuk Hill:

First you have to go to bandarban city. To go to Chimbuk, you have to hire a jeep/ local bus service/ land cruiser/ land rover/ pajero from the Bandarban town/ Ruma bus station. No vehicles ply on the Chimbuk-Thanchi road after 4 pm. So tourists should return by 4pm.

Nilachal Parjatan Complex:

Nilachal Parjatan Complex is very popular tourist center in Bandarban and it is located on the hill about 2000 feet high near the city of Bandarban.  It is maintained by district administration. This spot is situated in Tiger Para area and just 5 km away from the city. A few new places have recently been created in this spot. Starting from the “ Jhulonto Nila”  a few more restrooms have been built gradually downwards. Notable among these are the “Niharika” & “Valentine point”.  The whole city of Bandarban can be seen at peak from this hill. Tourist can enjoy the magnificent view of Cox’s Bazar beach from Nilachol cloudless sky.

Nilachol Parjatan Complex’s entry fee TK.30 per person. You have to pay road toll to go to Nilachol TK.30 for Auto Rickshaw/CNG and TK.60 for Chander Gari(Jeep).

First you have to go to bandarban city. To go to Nilachal Parjatan Complex, you have to hire a jeep/ Auto Rickshaw/ CNG from Bandarban town.

Nilgiri Parjatan Center:

Nilgiri Parjatan Center is located on a hilltop just 45 km from the Bandarban town. Nilgiri is a very popular tourist spot for tourist and it is a unique place of nature. From the peak of the Nilgiri hill you can see Keokradong and the rows of the mountains. There are several Mro tribal villages near the Nilgiri. There is a camp of Bangladesh Army in Nilgiri. As a result, Army members will extend a helping hand in any of your needs. Winter & monsoon are the best seasons for travel in Nilgiri Parjatan Center.

Golden Temple:

Buddha Dhatu Jati is very popular spot for tourist. This Pagoda is one of the best in Southeast Asia. It is a significant place of worship for Buddhists. It is modeled on Buddhist temple in Myanmar, China & Thailand. This Temple is located in Pool Para in Balaghata, Bandarban.  For its golden color is known as the Golden Temple. It is also known as ‘Mahasukh Mandir’/ ‘Buddha Dhatu jadi’.  Its distance from Bandarban town is 4 km. A beautiful Pagoda built on the top of a high mountain.

First you have to go to bandarban city. To go to Golden Temple, you have to hire/ share Auto Rickshaw/ CNG from Bandarban town.

Shoilo Propat:

Shoilo Propat (Waterfall) is located in Milonchhari. It is 4 km away from the town on the road to Thanchi. This Waterfall is very popular for tourist and is a wonderful creation of natural beauty. Most of the year is full of domestic and foreign tourist. Although the view of this Waterfall can be seen during the rainy season, it is very difficult to get down to the Waterfall.  There is a small market near the Shoilo Propat for trading local people’s handicrafts, hand loom products and food.

How to go Shoilo Propat:

First you have to go to bandarban city. To go to Shoilo Propat, you have to hire/ share Auto Rickshaw/ CNG from Bandarban town.

Prantik Lake:

Prantik Lake is a artificial Lake and this lake is created over an area of about 25 acres. It is located in a village at ‘Haludia’ on the Bandarban-Keranihat road. Its distance from the main road is 5 km. The distance of Prantik Lake from the Bandarban town is 14 km. This Lake has open terraces, picnic spots, rest room and a high round house.  If you want to camp here, you have to get permission from the DC office beforehand.

How to go Prantik Lake:

First you have to go to bandarban city. To go to Prantik Lake, you have to hire  Auto Rickshaw/ CNG from Bandarban town.
